East Coast Divers was the very first dive center to teach Ice Diving under the excellent tutorship of Todd Smith back in the late 80’s and early 90’s. The Ice Diving program is an exhilarating program that will keep even the most adventurous diver entertained and learning. The program consists of one classroom session and one day of diving. You must be at least an advanced open water diver (4 specialty ratings and 24 logged dives) in order to participate in this program. We will cover topics such as appropriate equipment use and configuration, line and signaling techniques, proper ice cutting and dive site set up as well as all the other essential safety in. Remember, if you get stumped or if you have questions that aren't answered by the website you can always call (617) 277-2216 or shoot us an email at Brookline@ecdivers.com and we'll do our best to help!
Before Class you will also have to complete some online training. The online training is going to be done through SSI on their website. Within 36 hours of filling out the pre-class form, you should receive a log-in and be registered for the stress and rescue online training. If you are not, please don't hesitate to call or email the shop.
Students will be required to bring their own gear or rent from us. Gear rental is not included in the course fee and students are responsible for transportation of any rental gear to and from East Coast Divers.
