Project Description

We are Boston's premier diving education center for Advanced Navigation Classes and other scuba lessons in Massachusetts and New England!

About The Course:

Overview

Navigating underwater can be a challenge. Without clear defined routes or markings it's easy for everything to blend together and look the same. On top of that, as a culture we've grown accustomed to using technology to help us navigate as opposed to natural insight and clues. There aren't underwater GPS's yet so the best thing you can do is become proficient in compass use and learn how to use natural features on a dive to help you get where you are going and back to your exit point safely. Don't find yourself in a situation where you have to rely on a dive buddy or guide to get you where you are going. A good sense of underwater navigation will help any diver build confidence and dramatically increase their comfort and ability.

Many dives have more than one route to follow. In fact, most dive sites are really just a large area with many possible paths to follow. Knowing where you want to go and being able to get there will help you go where you want to go and see what you want to see. There are many Advanced Navigation techniques we use to help you be able to navigate in any condition comfortably and safely. Advanced Navigation dives are typically completed as a shore dive but boat dive are also possible depending on the student requirements and weather conditions. Sign up today!

This course only runs from May - October.

Before Class

Before your Advanced Navigation Diving Course there is a bit of paperwork you’ll have to fill out. This program requires a minimum of 5 distinct forms. You can find the forms below and complete them ahead of your pool session, most important is the “SCUBA – MEDICAL FORM“. Go through the medical form now and check to see if you need to answer “YES” to any of the questions. If so no big deal – you’ll just need to get a doctors’ sign-off before we can let you in the water. The doctors’ note is in the additional “PHYSICIANS RELEASE” file – along with guidelines for your physician. Remember if you answer “YES” to anything in the medical it is NECESSARY to get a doctors’ note BEFORE getting in the water. It’s also important to note if a physicians signature is require, only medical doctor (MD) signatures are accepted.
