Join Kim Murray & East Coast Divers in Socorro for some of the most epic pelagic diving in the Pacific!

November 15th-24th 2020

Come join us for 10 action packed days aboard the Rocio Del Mar in the Socorro Islands. With spacious cabins, en suite full bathrooms, a dive deck designed for divers and the ECD crew it’s sure to be an amazing trip! The Socorro Islands are known as the “Mexican Galapagos”, full of pelagic life-sharks of many varieties, friendly dolphins, schools of tuna and jacks, and, the highlight for many, giant Pacific Mantas.

About The Diving:

With 7 full dive days and 3-4 dives per day you’ll have plenty of bottom time to see all the islands have to offer! Socorro is an excellent dive destination for large pelagics due to the open ocean nature of the islands, which sometimes include currents and choppy conditions. The underwater topography consists of rocky outcroppings, boulders and some walls. There is not much in the way of coral as this is a cooler water destination.
Schooling Hammerhead sharks, Tiger sharks, dolphins, silky sharks, Galapagos sharks, clouds of jacks and barracuda, tuna, wahoo, oceanic white tips sharks, whale sharks and mantas are all regularly seen. Mantas are the claim to fame for Socorro Islands The mantas are friendly and seem to seek out and enjoy interacting with divers. They often start swooping in as soon as the anchor line goes down!
Due to the possibility of currents and diving depths, we recommend guests be nitrox and deep certified/experienced and be comfortable diving in current and colder water.
