About The Diving:

The clear, warm waters, easy diving, beautiful reefs and lack of crowds make Curaçao a hidden gem of the diving community. With five days of  boat dives, you’ll get the opportunity to see the best the island has to offer! Sea turtles, eagle rays, moray eels and schools of Tarpon, bar jacks and barracuda are common on the many dive sites of the island. The reefs are healthy and an abundance of star, brain, elkhorn and staghorn coral make a terrific habitat for Queen Angels, Parrotfishes, seahorses, Caribbean lobsters, Pederson cleaner shrimp, octopuses, reef squid, and the elusive frogfish.  If the boat diving isn’t enough, you will also get unlimited air for shore diving! You can explore the beautiful house reef, go on a night dive to hunt for octopus, or take a road trip and explore some of Curaçao’s best shore diving sites. Curaçao’s reef typically ranges from 15 to 100 feet, with typical dive profiles in the 40 to 60-foot range. This is a prime destination for divers of all skill and experience levels!

Ocean Encounters is Curaçao’s premiere SSI and PADI Dive center. Their main facility, located at the Lion’s Dive Beach Resort, is spacious and well-equipped with a full service center, nitrox blending station, four spacious boats, and a friendly and experienced crew. The boats are never filled to capacity, and divers are never herded. Any dive team with the appropriate skill level and equipped with computers are free to dive their own no-decompression diving plan. Ocean Encounters is also the founder of the Curaçao Reef Restoration Program, and are dedicated to the protection, restoration and preservation of Curaçao’s beautiful coral reef.

The freediving option includes materials and coursework (pool and ocean) for level 1, 2, or 3 freediving certification with SSI's International Freediving Training Director Nick Fazah.
