A prominent pinnacle at the northern end of Eastern Point Shores, Brace Rock is a haven for lobster divers. There can be heavy boat traffic in the summer. The depths are quite shallow on the Brace Cove side but moderate on the Ocean Side sloping from 15 to 40 feet a few hundred yards offshore.
The shoreline of Gloucester’s Eastern Point region offers divers excellent lobstering from June to October on a varied rocky substrate in relatively shallow waters. The rocky coast yields to a shallow slope that extends well offshore before giving way to sand. Brace’s Rock is one of the popular anchorages at the northern end of the region.
