Who I Am

After spending years by or on an ocean, Max gained his open water diver certification at the age of 13 and has continued diving since. He attended Northeastern University, where he graduated with a BS in Marine Ecology. During his time there he volunteered to study reef health and fish populations from Caye Caulker, Belize, and became certified as an AAUS scientific diver while a student in the Professional Master’s program known as Three Seas. He also spent 6 months working for the Coastal Group lab at Woods Hole Oceanographic, studying the history of major storm events in the continental United States. In 2018, during his final semester of college he joined the ECD team as an intern and has continued up through the ranks to the position he holds now. During his time with the shop he has expanded his dive certifications and and is continuing to learn and grow as an instructor.

Max is also the assistant director of training to Kim Malkoski. While Kim spends most of her weekday time at Woods Hole Oceanigraphic Institute as a Dive Safety Officer (DSO) Max holds down the fort at East Coast Divers maintaining class organization, structure, paperwork and communications with Kim.
