Advanced Freediving Training Program Overview

Our Advanced Freediving Training Program is designed for freedivers looking to elevate their skills through in-depth academic learning and hands-on pool training. This comprehensive program focuses on advanced techniques, safety protocols, and performance strategies, offering participants the tools and knowledge needed to enhance their freediving abilities and gain confidence in the water.

Academic Focus

The program’s academic component provides a solid foundation in advanced freediving concepts. Key topics include:

  • Training Techniques: Learn the benefits and structure of apnea tables, including static and dynamic CO2 tables, walking apnea tables, and advanced relaxation techniques. Discover how to construct customized training tables tailored to your progression and goals.
  • Physiology and Safety: Explore the effects of pressure on the body, lung volumes and capacities, equalization techniques, and advanced methods for reducing residual volume. Delve into cranial air spaces, the soft palate, and the limits of Frenzel equalization.
  • Equipment and Buoyancy: Gain insight into advanced freediving equipment, including high-performance wetsuits, dive computers, and buoy set-up configurations. Understand the importance of proper weighting and buoyancy for dynamic and static dives.
  • Rescue and Safety Procedures: Enhance your knowledge of buddy systems, deep water safety calculations, and blackout prevention. Learn to perform effective LMC (Loss of Motor Control) and BO (Blackout) rescues.
  • Stretching and Warm-Ups: Develop flexibility and improve performance with specialized stretching routines, warm-up techniques, and preparation for target dives and max attempts.

Practical Pool Training

The practical component of the program focuses on applying academic knowledge in a controlled pool environment. Participants will practice:

  • Static Apnea: Refine relaxation techniques and extend breath-hold times with progressive static apnea attempts.
  • Dynamic Apnea: Work on dynamic warm-ups and fine-tune weighting, and aim for advanced dynamic apnea distances.
  • Buoy Rigging and Set-Up: Master the skills for practical buoy configurations and underwater safety systems.
  • Max Attempts: Push your limits with max static and dynamic apnea attempts, supported by expert guidance and safety measures.

Key Highlights

  • A comprehensive blend of academic and practical training
  • Focus on safety, advanced techniques, and performance optimization
  • Opportunities to practice dynamic apnea, static apnea, and buoy rigging
  • Tailored instruction to meet individual goals and abilities

This program offers a well-rounded and intensive learning experience, ensuring participants gain the skills and confidence needed to progress as advanced freedivers.
