Once you book your course, our team will register you for class materials. You will receive an email with a link to your materials from the agency (SSI or SDI/TDI). Our training team can be reached at training@ecdivers.com if you have any questions about the course.

 

The Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about advancing your skills. You’ll practice navigation and buoyancy, try deep diving , learn about search and recovery methods, and do a night dive. It’s a great way to expand your diving experience and find out what kind of diving you want to do more of or schedule a specialty course for!  Students must choose to take the SSI or PADI course when signing up.

The AOW course will be offered over either 3 or 4 days:
1.weekday evening- Academic session via zoom
2. Dive day 1  9am-1pm- Buoyancy and Navigation dives at Hathaway’s Pond 
3. Dive Day 2 time TBD- Deep and Search and Recovery dives at Ft Wetherill
4. Wed evening- 6:30ish location TBD Night Dive

OR
1. weekday evening zoom session
2. Dive day 1: 9am-3pm Buoyancy, Navigation and Search dives at Hathway’s Pond
3. Dive day 2: 2pm-9pm Deep and Night at Fort Wetherill

Course cost does NOT include the PADI elearning ($231 at padi.com) , students must register themselves for the padi elearning. Students choosing the PADI option must affiliate their elearning with East Coast Divers or an additional fee of  $100 will be due. The SSI elearning is charged at the time of registration and you’ll be registered by ECD for the materials.

 

Before Class

Students must sign up for and purchase the PADI Advanced Open Water elearning from padi.com and complete the sections for the dives in the program.

Open Water certified diver with cold water diving experience and have been diving in the past 2 years. If you need a refresher dive we offer private guided dives with an instructor or guide!

Students must bring all scuba gear to the sessions. Students will need:

1 tank per dive
Full scuba gear for all sessions: a BC, regulator,  dive computer, appropriate exposure protection (7mm wetsuit and hood/hooded vest, gloves or drysuit with hood/gloves), weights
A light (2 preferred) and a tank light for the night dive.

Scuba gear can be rented from East Coast divers here.  Mask, fins/boots and snorkels are personal gear and not rentable.

All ECD Students receive 10% off equipment purchases while enrolled in a course!

1 zoom session and 5 dives with an SSI/PADI instructor and any specialty eqiupment (lift bags, etc) for the dives
