What happens when you turn scuba skills into a team competition?
For our third Under Pressure Lab, we’re turning the pool into an underwater Olympics course. Teams will take on a series of challenges designed to test buoyancy control, precision, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.
Some challenges will reward speed, others control or accuracy, and a few may require your team to figure out exactly what the problem is before you can solve it.
And yes, there will be points. Teams will earn points at each event, with scores combined to determine the overall Scuba STEM Olympics champions.
No engineering experience or advanced dive training is required. Just bring your scuba skills, some teamwork, and a willingness to get a little competitive.
The Olympics are designed for small teams of divers who will rotate through a series of underwater challenges during the session.
You don’t need to come with a team. Individuals and couples are welcome and will be matched with other participants. If you’re registering with your own crew, book your spots together and we’ll keep you on the same team.
Each team will face the same challenges and earn points along the way toward their final overall score.
Tanks and weights are included.
Bring your mask, fins, and other personal dive gear. If needed, BCD and regulator rental can be added for $15 when you register.

This event is for certified scuba divers. You don’t need to be an engineer, a STEM expert, or particularly good at building things. In fact, we’re pretty sure questionable engineering decisions will be part of the entertainment.
Come with a team or come on your own. Either way, be ready to compete, problem-solve, put your dive skills to work in some unusual ways, and see how your team stacks up.
Divers must have been diving with the last 2 years to participate
