Background:

Mike’s journey into diving started with a single, unforgettable moment: his very first dive in Cozumel, where a passing manta ray greeted him. Captivated by the experience, he didn’t just sign up for more dives—he convinced his entire family to get certified alongside him. That spark launched a lifelong fascination with the ocean and the gear that makes exploring it possible.

While Mike holds instructor credentials, you’ll often find him behind the scenes, bringing nearly 20 years of experience as a manufacturer’s rep for brands like Mares, SSI, Oceanic, Atomic, Stahlsac, Zeagle, and Bare. His calm, no-pressure approach matches his deep equipment knowledge—he’s the guy who takes the time to help divers understand what they need and why, whether it’s their first setup or their next big upgrade.

Mike’s also a passionate wreck and cave diver, with dives on legendary sites like the Andrea Doria under his belt. When he’s not helping customers find the perfect gear, he’s usually off chasing rust and rock in the deep, exploring the silent spaces that drew him in from the start.

Favorite Dive Site:

Mike’s got a soft spot for Truk Lagoon—and honestly, who can blame him? Wrecks layered in history, still holding the scars of war and the silence of the deep. It’s a place where every dive feels like a time capsule, and for someone who loves both exploration and storytelling, it hits all the right notes.

Favorite Creature:

Manta rays. Effortless, graceful, massive—and still somehow humble. Mike loves the way they move with quiet power, gliding in slow loops like they’ve got nowhere to be but everywhere to go. Catching a glimpse of one on a dive still stops him in his tracks, no matter how many times he’s seen them.

Favorite Certification Course:

DPV Cave Diver sits high on Mike’s list. There’s something about combining the flow of cave diving with the speed and control of a scooter that just lights him up. It’s like threading a needle at 60 feet per minute—but with perfect buoyancy, total trust in your kit, and full focus on the line in front of you. It’s technical, it’s challenging, and when done right, it’s one of the most fun ways to dive on the planet.

Goals In The Dive Industry:

For Mike, diving has always been about connection—connection to the water, to the people you dive with, and to the gear that keeps you down there. He’s not the loudest voice in the room, but he’s often the one people turn to when they’re trying to figure something out—whether it’s a new piece of equipment, a challenging dive objective, or how to get past that mental block on a rebreather dive.

He dives because it brings clarity, focus, and just enough challenge to keep things interesting. But more than anything, he loves helping other divers find what works for them—their gear, their style, their reason to keep coming back. Whether it’s guiding someone toward the right setup or talking cave diving over a surface interval, Mike brings patience, precision, and an unwavering love for the process.

Dive Kit:

Mike’s dive kit is dialed in for comfort, performance, and serious bottom time. He dives an XDEEP drysuit that blends rugged functionality with sleek design—it’s built to take a beating and still look sharp doing it. When he’s on rebreather, he trusts his rEvo. It’s compact, precise, and gives him the control and reliability he expects on deeper, more technical dives.

His fin of choice? The classic Mares Quattro. Simple, powerful, and dependable—they’ve been kicking through wrecks and current long before “high tech” meant anything fancy. Like Mike himself, his gear isn’t about trends—it’s about function, reliability, and getting the job done right.
