We will train at three central locations: Yum Kin, Kin Ha, and Maravilla
Yum Kin
Yum Kin offers a serene and secluded freediving experience with its crystal-clear waters and tranquil surroundings. Located just outside Puerto Morelos, this cenote is known for its calm, turquoise waters that gradually descend to over 50 meters. The site is ideal for deep freediving training, with visibility so clear it feels like you're floating in the air. Yum Kin remains largely undiscovered by the tourist crowd, making it a peaceful spot for uninterrupted dives and connection with nature. The lush greenery surrounding the cenote adds to the tranquil vibe. Though Yum Kin has no facilities or food vendors, the solitude and natural beauty more than compensate. Bring your water and essentials as you explore this hidden gem.
Kin Ha
Kin Ha is an extraordinary cenote with a blend of open and hollow sections, perfect for divers looking to push their boundaries. The water here is renowned for its intense clarity, allowing you to see as far as the light can reach. At Kin Ha, you'll encounter depths reaching 40 meters, making it a superb training ground for various freediving techniques, from static breath holds to free immersion. The cenote’s name translates to "Sun Water," as the sunlight penetrates the water, the vibrant blues and greens create a mesmerizing atmosphere. The site also features caverns with stunning rock formations, adding an element of adventure to your dives. Basic amenities like bathrooms are available, but it’s recommended to pack snacks and water for your time here.
Maravilla
Maravilla Cenote is aptly named, meaning “marvel” in Spanish, and it's easy to see why. With stunning underwater rock formations, crystal-clear visibility, and a vast open water space, this cenote is ideal for those who want to experience the beauty of deep freediving in an awe-inspiring environment. Descending to depths of over 30 meters, Maravilla offers perfect conditions for honing your deep dive skills and testing your limits. The unique geological features, including limestone arches and walls, create a breathtaking underwater landscape. This cenote remains relatively uncrowded and is nestled in a peaceful area outside Puerto Morelos. Like the other sites, amenities are limited, so plan and bring your supplies to enjoy the dive fully.
