Background:

Originally from Israel, Danny’s connection to the water runs deep—and started early. He’s been freediving since the age of four, spending his childhood camping by the Red Sea with his family, where he and his brothers would spend entire days in the water holding their breath, chasing fish, and learning, instinctively, how to move through the ocean without bubbles or noise.

Years later, on a scuba trip to Thailand, he stumbled across a flyer for a freediving course. Five minutes of conversation with the instructors, and that was it—he ditched the tanks and returned to his first love. No hoses. No noise. Just lungs, fins, and focus.

Since then, freediving has become a lifelong pursuit—not just as a sport, but as a practice. Danny brings a calm, grounded presence to every course he teaches, helping his students find both technique and trust in their breath. Whether it’s someone just learning to equalize or an experienced diver trying to break a mental barrier, Danny meets them where they are—and helps them move forward, one breath at a time.

But his time in the ocean doesn’t stop at freediving. Danny’s also an accomplished sailor and open water swimmer. In his 20s, he crossed the Pacific Ocean on a 35-foot catamaran, sailing from Panama to the Marshall Islands—proving that if it floats, he’ll figure out how to live on it.

Favorite Dive Site:

Dahab, Egypt. Danny first laid eyes on it when he was eight years old, and something about it stuck. He’s been back over a dozen times since. There’s just nothing like the contrast of the deep blue water against the stark desert landscape. The Blue Hole. The Canyon. The shoreline buzzing with freedivers. It’s a place that feels both timeless and alive—where every dive feels like coming home.

Favorite Creature:

Octopus. Should I say more? Their intelligence, their ability to blend into their surroundings, and that strange, silent grace underwater—they’ve always fascinated Danny. There’s something about their mystery and their unpredictability that keeps him coming back for more.

Favorite Certification Course:

Freediving Level 1. There’s something special about that first breakthrough—watching a student drop below 30 feet, relax into the dive, and come back up with a huge smile. It’s the moment everything clicks. For Danny, that’s what it’s all about: helping people realize they’re capable of way more than they thought, and that the ocean isn’t something to conquer—it’s something to belong in

Goals In The Dive Industry:

Freediving can be life changing—it has been for Danny. It’s more than a sport; it’s a mindset, a reset, a return to something deeper. He feels incredibly privileged to guide students through those first steps into the freediving world, to help them slow down, tune in, and discover that magic for themselves. Every dive is an invitation to feel more connected—to the water, to your breath, and to what really matters.

Dive Kit:

Danny swears by his Cetma carbon fins—lightweight, powerful, and built for precision. They’re the perfect match for his smooth, ballerina-style kick: no wasted movement, just clean propulsion and effortless glide. For him, gear isn’t about flash—it’s about efficiency. If it helps him move better, breathe deeper, or stay calmer in the water, it earns a place in the kit. And the Cetmas? They’re not going anywhere.
