The Diving in Cayman Brac

Diving in Cayman Brac is all about dramatic underwater landscapes, exceptional visibility, and relaxed, uncrowded conditions. The island is surrounded by steep walls, colorful reefs, and swim-throughs, with more than 50–70 named dive sites offering everything from shallow coral gardens to deep drop-offs that disappear into the blue. Visibility often reaches 150 feet or more, and the reefs are home to an incredible range of marine life including turtles, eagle rays, groupers, reef sharks, and dense schools of tropical fish. With mostly current-free conditions and sites just minutes from shore, divers can enjoy long, easy dives at their own pace.

One of the highlights of diving here is the variety. A typical day might include a deep wall dive in the morning followed by a shallower reef dive filled with coral formations and marine life. Cayman Brac is also home to the famous MV Captain Keith Tibbetts, a 330-foot former Russian warship intentionally sunk as an artificial reef and now covered in coral and teeming with life. Add in spur-and-groove reefs, wrecks, and pristine coral formations, and every dive offers something different, whether you love big-animal encounters, photography, or simply cruising along vibrant Caribbean reef walls.

Their team handles all the heavy lifting, including setting up, rinsing, drying, and storing your gear each day, so everything is ready for you when you step on the boat. With decades of experience and daily boat dives departing right from the resort dock, Reef Divers provides easy access to the island’s best dive sites while delivering attentive, professional service. Their custom dive boats are built for comfort, with shaded areas, camera tables, and freshwater showers, creating a smooth, relaxed diving routine that lets you focus entirely on enjoying the incredible diving Cayman Brac has to offer.

Cayman Brac is a quiet, unspoiled Caribbean island known for its dramatic limestone bluff, crystal clear water, and relaxed, small-town feel. Unlike its busier neighbor Grand Cayman, the Brac offers a slower pace where life revolves around the ocean, with excellent visibility, healthy reefs, and some of the Caribbean’s best wall diving just minutes from shore. Above water, the island has scenic coastal roads, friendly local restaurants, and beautiful views around every corner, all without crowds or traffic. It is the kind of place where divers can truly unplug, settle into island time, and enjoy a week focused on great diving, sunshine, and good company.

Cayman Brac Beach Resort is a relaxed, diver-focused beachfront resort where every room is just steps from the pool, beach, and dock. The resort has about 40 spacious guest rooms, all with beach and pool views, furnished in bright Caribbean décor with either a king bed or two doubles, private bathrooms, and individual air conditioning. Most rooms include a balcony or patio, along with conveniences like WiFi, TV, mini-fridge, and coffee maker, making them comfortable places to unwind between dives. With its laid-back atmosphere, oceanfront setting, and everything designed around easy access to diving and relaxation, the resort makes settling into island life effortless from the moment you arrive.
