Background:

Kate’s dive story began in 2015 with a simple goal: trade ski boots for fins and convince her husband that tropical vacations were the way to go. Fast forward nearly a decade, and things have flipped—she’s now an active technical diver being pulled into shipwrecks and caves by that same husband, and loving every minute of it.

Whether she’s exploring deep wrecks or working behind the scenes, Kate brings a mix of humor, precision, and passion to everything she does. She’s a proud member of the Boston Sea Rovers and part of the Red Bull Cliff Diving Safety Team, where her calm presence and love of diving help keep high-adrenaline events running smoothly.

Her motto? “Safety third”—but only because fun and adventure come first and second.

Favorite Dive Site:

For Kate, no dive destination compares to Truk Lagoon—the hauntingly beautiful result of World War II’s Operation Hailstone. It’s not just the shipwrecks that draw her in, but the deep history woven into every dive and the incredible warmth of the local community. With a range of diving that spans from recreational depths to advanced technical exploration, Truk offers something unforgettable for every diver, no matter their experience level.

Favorite Creature:

Kate still remembers spotting her first moon snail on one of her earliest New England dives—probably her second or third ever. By most standards, they’re not the flashiest underwater creatures, but something about that moment stuck. It opened her eyes to the incredible range of life beneath the surface and reminded her that wonder doesn’t always come in big, dramatic forms. These days, every time she sees a moon snail, she can’t help but wave and smile.

Favorite Certification Course:

For Kate, earning her cave diving certification stands out as one of the most rewarding experiences in her diving journey. The training pushed her limits in the best way, revealing just how much she was capable of. It also introduced a level of mental focus and discipline that she hadn’t experienced in any other kind of diving—a challenge that quickly became an obsession.

  • Divemaster (DM)
  • Dive Guide
  • Snorkeling Instructor

Dive Kit:

While she doesn’t dive open circuit all that often these days, Kate still swears by her Halcyon backplate and wing system—it’s seen her through years of open water adventures and remains one of her most trusted pieces of kit. These days, you’ll usually find her diving a Prism 2 rebreather and swapping stories with the vibrant community of CCR divers she helps foster. Whether it’s deep, technical, or just a good excuse to gear up, Kate’s always chasing that next underwater challenge.
