Nitrox is a mix of Oxygen and Nitrogen that is different than what is in air. Typically the difference is that there is more Oxygen in the Nitrox that divers use resulting in less Nitrogen. As certified divers know, Nitrogen is responsible for decompression sickness, so limiting its percentage in the gas we breathe can result in SIGNIFICANTLY more time underwater for each dive.
The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox program will teach you how to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen.
Why learn to dive Nitrox?
Diving with enriched air can increase your no-decompression limits, increase your safety, and reduce the required length of your surface intervals when compared to air. You will earn the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification after completing this program. Nitrox diving is growing in popularity among recreational divers. Come and learn why so many divers are changing their breathing mixtures even for dives to 40 ft. Take your Nitrox course from the first store to teach Nitrox in Massachusetts… EAST COAST DIVERS!
