This program teaches the skills and concepts required to safely blend Nitrox and/or helium-based trimix blends for mixed-gas diving. This is a non-diving program that is open to certified and uncertified divers and teaches the mathematics, physics, and techniques required to safely blend breathing gases. This course provides the training required to competently blend nitrox and mixed gas. The objective of this course is to train candidates in the proper techniques, equipment requirements, and hazards involved in blending nitrox and mixed gasses for scuba diving activities
Why learn gas blending?
Have you ever wondered how your Nitrox cylinders are filled? Do you like the “behind the scenes” look at what makes a dive happen? Take the Gas Blender course to find out how your cylinders get filled with Nitrox and Trimix! The Gas Blender course will take you through the blending process in an easy-to-understand format.
As a certified gas blender, you will be qualified to blend Nitrox and Trimix* gases on the East Coast Divers mixed gas station. You will then be able to book times to use the blending station to avoid the per cylinder blending fee.
*NOTE: This is a 2 part program. All students must first complete the Nitrox Blender section of the program. Only Nitrox certified divers will be able to join the program and all divers will only be able to blend personal mixes up to their certification. The second part of the program is the Trimix Blender section of the program. Nitrox certified divers are welcome to take the Trimix Blender section of the program but can not blend mixes for themselves.
